By-laws established by Council require certain types of businesses to obtain licenses or permits in order to operate. Depending on the nature of the business as well as where the property or building is located, related fees may apply. There are also fees relating to the planning process within the Municipality of Temagami that are outlined through By-law 06-684 – for setting Planning Fees. These fees are subject to change without notice and exclude applicable taxes. The fee schedule for planning is as follow:

Proponents may be required at their own expense, to hire professional consultants with the appropriate expertise to deal with any issues that may arise out of a development application. These studies, if they are completed by the applicant, may be subject to peer review by a second consultant hired by the Municipality at the applicant’s expense or, alternatively, only one study could be completed by a consultant directed by the Municipality at the applicant’s expense.
